thrift store thursday!

well my thrift store finds today were pretty pitiful.
and by finds, i mean find.
i really need some hoarders to donate some more stuff to the store....the pickins are slim lately.
or i need a really good estate sale or garage sale.

anyoo...the only thing i walked away with today was this frame....new in package for 3 bucks.
 i always need frames.

i ran some other errands this morning to get supplies for some fun projects!
i can't wait to show you. :)

i also did a revamp of my flea market booth.
i had a short amount of time to get everything done before i had to pick up the littles so the result is not spectacular or anything.

we decided we didn't want to use our black book shelves in the new house so we moved them to the booth so that i can give my mom her shelves back.
it was a wee bit zealous of me to think i could do all that in an hour this morning so i was pretty rushed.
thankfully AJ met me there and carried shelves in and out.
i was down to the wire so i didn't get to really style it like i wanted but you know...it's all in there for now.
i will hopefully do some more rearranging next time i visit. :)

our bar in our new house is taller so i am selling these distressed chevron bar stools.
i love them and i hope someone else does too!

in other news...i tried a new drink yesterday.
hazelnut macchiato.
oh my gravy.
it's awesome.
thought you'd like to know. :)

it's a red letter day.

i took a shower and dried & straightened my hair after the kids were awake.
miracle.

i got dressed & put makeup on on a home school day.
miracle.

i packed several boxes while the boys were occupied.
winning.

sawyer entertained himself all morning and didn't ask to watch a show until after 11:00.
biggest miracle ever in the history of ever.

we have a final walk through on our house at noon.
yay. hoo.

i'll bring my camera. :)

good monday morning.

 my goal for the new year  of reading one book per month is in jeopardy.
i'm still on one thousand gifts and it's march 11.
aj said i could average 12 books in a year. :)
i'm gonna need some quick reads next!

one thousands gifts is soooo good though.
i have underlined 1/3 of the book probably.
so. good.
exactly what i have needed.

this morning i put a big ol' star around this passage.....

thrift store thursday!!!

oh yeah. it happened.
it was a crazy fast whirlwind, but mama got to go thrifting.
all is right in the world.

sawyer was pumped to go to "school" today.
he loves going and can't get there fast enough.
he also needs to bring various accessories, like 3 superheroes & a pair of broken handcuffs stuffed into his pocket.

i had a few minutes before ph thrift opened so i ran into lowes to check out the rugs & light fixtures.

see that jelly jar sconce up on the top left of that pic?
i picked up four of those {for less than 20 bucks total} for finley & sawyer's room in the new house.
their room is actually a big bonus room so we are using it for their bedroom & play room all in one.
it's a huge room.
it also has four sconces that are way to fancy for a little boys' room.
i think these simple $4 sconces will be perfect.

next, i put the pedal to the medal to get over to the thrift store before all the good stuff was gone.
i didn't find a ton, but i did find these great rugs.
like seriously, i am in love.

this one went straight to the booth.

i also picked up this sweet red & brown one for avery's room in the new house.
i am so excited to decorate his new room.
my plan is for a very boyish, vintage, campy vibe.

this is not super exciting but i also picked up a bath rug for $5.
yes, i will wash it.
relax.
it's exactly the same as one we already have.
we just need another one and i would rather pay $5 than $10-20 at target.

the steal of the day was this solid brass tray.
it was marked from 19.99 down to 50 CENTS.
holla.

well crud i forgot to take a picture.
can you see it in this pic?

i almost kept it for myself...i can see it on a coffee table or entry table.
great, classic piece.
however...we're moving and i have enough to pack as it is.
so to the booth it went.
if it's still there after we move, i will probably snag it back. ;)

i had one more stop to make before picking up the littles.
tomorrow night AJ and i are going to a private showing of the norman rockwell collection at crystal bridges.
woo hoo. date night.

it's business casual.
yeah. well. this SAHM doesn't own business casual.
i have either really casual or really dressy.
so obviously i headed to forever 21.
obviously.

i texted this pic to AJ from the dressing room as asked if this was business casual.
he said, get it. ha.

the girl at the checkout asked if i had an interview.
;) i guess i got it right.

tuesday thoughts.

hey y'all. 

we're having a sweet tuesday at home over here.

we did a quick target run after dropping the boys off and then back home until it's time to pick them up this afternoon.

i love spending my tuesdays with just my little ones.

it's nice to have focused time for them.

we do lots of hanging out on the floor, playing with toys....just like i did with the big boys when they were little.

i like it.

special moments that fly away so fast.

how many times have i wished i could be back on the floor with my little avery playing legos??

having older ones, definitely helps me slow down and appreciate these days with my littles.

i resisted the urge and did not buy them for myself.

but if someone who loves me wants to buy them for me that would be just fine. ;)

saw this antique vanity at my flea market last night.
i love it....thinking i need a vanity in the new house.

okay, must get back to packing....we close in 10 days!!!
can't wait to show you the new digs!

three weeks in a row.

i have missed thrift store thursday.
this is a sadness.
this thursday . . .  i have a date with destiny.
i will be there when those doors open.
nobody better get in my way.

i did stop into my flea market to restock my booth last week.

she's pretty full & cluttery right now.
sorry these pics are kinda blurry.
trying to take pics with my phone, with a cracked screen, while not getting in shoppers way is a lil' bit tricksy.

i love going in there and piddling around in my booth....adding and rearranging.

i also wanted to show you some of my favorite booths there.

this is one of my favorites.
she has tons of farmhouse finds and is always changing it up.
she has great prices and i shop her booth often. :)

handmade hoops...so sweet.

isn't that chalkboard globe so fun?
i can see it adding some whimsy to a playroom.

also love this booth.
many great rustic and primitive finds.

i eye this metal basket every time.
it may come home with me someday soon.

 also that vintage metal bed frame.
it would be so cute in a garden or on a front porch or even in a bedroom....so many fun possibilities!

this vintage chair is amazing.
love the coral.
the new upholstery is done so well.

i have also been keeping my eye on this sweet vintage dress.
someday when i have time i'm going to try it on.
i think it's pretty rad.

i love how this vendor has vintage linens hanging on a line.
so cute.
and lampshades made with vintage fabrics...that is my kind of happy right there.


someone asked me if i am ready for yard sale season.
why yes, yes i am.
my heart starts beating faster just thinking about it! :)

happy march first!!!!

oh man, y'all, this week has been so much better. 

last week was one of the longest weeks i can remember. 

i kept reminding myself that the hard weeks make the easy weeks so much sweeter. 

i finally took myself back to the doctor and he gave me antibiotics and steroids.

yay. hoo.

he is now my best friend.

i felt so much better by that night and finally feel myself again.

i am soooo thankful for modern medicine. 

okay so let's see here...the last two weeks in instas.... 

most of my pics from last week we are in our pj's....which is how we lived all week.

these two big boys helping me with ruby are such a blessing.

ruby was sicky and fussy but still very busy and wanting to be entertained.

those boys were my saving grace. 

santa hat. 

this girl won't keep a bow on to save her life but she will wear a hat for hours.

she kept pulling it down over her face and walking around laughing.

such a hoot.

a sweet friend brought us all fruit popsicles.

now that's thinking right there.

sissy is a big fan.

i need to remember to do that for people who are sick.

brilliant.

this was in walmart last week.....of course.

it was barely sprinkling out side.

she put a sack over her head. 

and she put her purse in a bag.

wow. people are funny.

i am the girl who never ever ever has an umbrella. 

who has time to mess with that? not this girl.

i have two good legs and i run. 

and i have wet hair and probably look like a drowned rat.

snow day popcorn, hot chocolate, and sweet brothers.

last weekend, avery got to go to an overnight, 4th-5th-6th grade retreat. 

he was pumped.

it was our first time letting him go overnight to anything outside of our family.

i was nervous but one of their leaders sent us tons of text updates and photos. 

that was so great for all the parents.

he had a blast and i am so thankful he got to go.

my baby's growing up....sigh...tear.... ;)

avery and his friend jack are starting a business. ;)

it is so cute.

they are texting each other back and forth (with their mom's phone...NO, my fourth grader does not own a phone) and their texts are so sweet!

this is the first time avery has texted anybody like this so it's really fun to see him growing up a little more.

of course i read every text. obviously.

anyhow, avery is drawing pictures that they plan to copy and sell around school and i guess to family and friends. 

i love that they're coming up with this all on their own and being so entrepreneurial. :)

yesterday i got to take Meliyah to be a model for a news snippet for rhea lana's children's consignment sale.  

she did such a great job...i was so proud of her. 

i have been a busy little bee working at rhea lana's this week.

i can't wait to shop for spring/summer clothes for the kids this weekend!
