twelve months {with outtakes}

the day before ruby's first birthday i took these twelve month shots.
i wanted to have all of her monthly shots to hang up at her party.

she's grown so much this year . . . so much bigger than the sign now.

this past month ruby started patting her mouth and saying "aaahhh" to make fun sounds.
she also started waving "bye-bye" and saying "bu, bu, bu," when she does it.

ruby started standing up on her own without holding onto anything.
she also started walking around with her little push toy.
she walks as far as she can until she hits a wall or object.
then she stands there and fusses until someone scoots her around and she can push it in another direction.
she loves it.
and we love watching her sway her little hips side to side when she walks....so adorable!!

at one year, little miss weighs a whopping 19 pounds....same as her big brother avery, at that age.

a week after her first birthday, ruby finally got her first tooth!
we thought that thing was never going to come in!

she also started walking on her own!
she took about 3 steps to each of us last friday . . . on my birthday incidentally, so i'm sure she was wanting to give me a birthday present. ;)
it sure was a cute one!

and now for some outtakes....lest you think this monthly photo thing has been a breeze  . . . ha.

this is the look she gives us 95% of the time that we put a bow on her head.
like, "i'm taking this off my head and what are you gonna do about it?"

she's got her bow and she's outta here.

oh that looks safe.

and one last attempt to put the bow back on.

ha. yeah right.
she's very pleased with herself.

i am so glad i stuck with it and took all these photos every month.
it's so fun to compare each month.

so thankful for this little sweet pea. :)

  1. Happy 12 months! Boo, my daughter stopped wearing headbands around that age and she still hasn't gone back...waiting patiently!
