hello, monday.

this is definitely a second cup of coffee kinda day.

we had a lovely weekend.
we had a good amount of family time and a good amount of time with dear friends.
dear friends who moved off to india to do some life changing work.

thankfully their work with joyn & dehradun guitar co. bring them back every summer, so we keep connected.
our boys have the best time together and look forward to it all year.

we went to a nearby lake that i grew up going to.

why do we not go there more often?? so crazy.

i am on a mission to change that. it is so beautiful out there and so fun.

it's also really peaceful and perfect for our nature loving family. 

okay, so the lake is not the cleanest thing you have ever seen but it was like just dandy for folks who live in india. ;)

our boy fisherman was in heaven.
amazing how that full of energy kid can fish for hours. love him.


well, this month is packed full of activity.
fighting my natural tendency to get way overwhelmed.
taking deep breaths and one day at a time.
want to navigate it with joy and grace. :)

this is a blank slate.

and i am sooooooooo excited about it!!

aj and i are opening a flea market booth. 

we are in the process of doing all the nitty gritty, set up stuff but we are so. pumped. to start this new venture.

it's small but it's ours and i can't wait to make it us....chippy and vintage and handmade and all manner of awesome.
i love the look of a cozy, collected over time, home...so that's the vibe we're going with here.
mostly vintage pieces that are full of character and beauty and tell a story...with some handmade thrown in for good measure.

i'll keep you updated as we get it all set up and ready to go.

hello weekend at the lake with my dear friends.
precious friends that have known me, good and bad, for over 15 years.
girlfriends that have made a commitment to meet together for a weekend every year since we graduated college.

goodbye weekend.

we had a wonderful weekend spent together as our little family of six. 

highlights: 

roasting hot dogs and s'mores with friends.

swimming.

donuts  . . . until i found out the heartbreaking news that kk no longer gives out free, hot donuts.

rude.

going to a mission fest in my home town, hanging with my fam & reconnecting with old friends. 

more swimming.

laying on a raft with a book while my boys swam around me. 

date night on the couch with my man.

which, obviously involved nutella.

requirement.

and a full bowl sized cup of coffee to keep me awake through the entire mission impossible 4. 

church.

nap, courtesy of my man cleaning up the downstairs so i wouldn't have to worry about it. 

swim party with my potter's house girls.

and a whole bunch or normal moments with my family that i am so very thankful for.

dear friends moved away last weekend.
goodbyes are lame.
you get used to living life with people and then you have to find a new way.
sad.

hello to a little boy who needs a sand box. 

he is too cute for words.

he made roads and castles and trails in the laundry soap while i put clothes in and out. 

i'm thinking of fashioning a sand box with an under the bed box and just store it on our porch.
it won't be beautiful, but it also won't be a litter box.
