vacation week 2010- tuesday

On tuesday of our vacation week we headed to the zoo.
We got to take Meliyah and my little sister Hannah with us.

it had been tooooooo long since we'd taken the kids to the zoo and i was excited.

i think we went every summer when i was a kid. i always loved it.
it was another perfect 80 degree weather day.

i think life is just so much fun with kids.
seriously, i think i would be bored to tears without them.
i love watching them experience new things.  i love seeing their eyes light up.
it's just good stuff.

i'm assuming that was meliyah's first time at the zoo.
she loved it.
what's not to love really?

okay so she didn't love the petting zoo part. but i already knew she wouldn't.
she likes to stay a nice safe distance away from animals.
Hannah, on the other hand, is in heaven around animals.
she has a very nurturing personality. 
the boys and hannah all loved brushing the goats.

hannah is 11 and was such a huge help.
she was so great at taking initiative and helping out with the kids.

i have a picture of my older sister and i sitting on that exact same rock waterfall/fountain thing when we were little.
i wish i could find it, i'd scan it for you and give you a good laugh.

the last thing we did was ride the train.
it's fun for the kids and fun for the grown ups because it takes you back to the front of the zoo.
i'd say that's money well spent.

on the way home the little ones napped and the rest of us enjoyed nice cold QT's.
