So we're having a major ice storm right now. I don't ever remember seeing one this bad. The boys and I are pretty stir crazy. It started yesterday so we've been cooped up for 2 days straight and will be again tomorrow. sigh. Snow is fun. Fun for the boys. Ice, not so much. The power has been on and off all day. It is pretty depressing when it's out. It just seems so dark and dreary. Whenever the electricity comes back on, we all start cheering and feel so much happier. It's obviously on right now and I'm praying it stays on through the night. AJ left work early b/c the electricity finally went out at Arvest. He took us for a drive to see all the ice. It's crazy. Trees are uprooted and laying down everywhere. Our poor trees have taken a beating.
There is definitely beauty in it though . . .
Our poor tree...those branches used to stand straight up.
AJ's going to have a great time removing all the branches from our back yard when this is over.
Thank you Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Edison. I am a fan.

My Boys
This is mostly for me.
And for them.
I want to remember.
Avery . . .
You are my big boy. Six years old used to seem so old to me. And now here you are. You are a constant delight to us. You are funny. You are creative. You love to build with leggos and create amazing masterpieces. You love anything you can do with your hands. You love all arts and crafts. You draw so well. I am constantly amazed at the pictures you show me. You are busy . . . always have been. You have boundless energy that I wish I could tap into. :) You love to laugh and make people laugh. You are caring. You are compassionate. You love babies and especially our Sawyer. You are such a great helper. You tell me you will be a song writer when you grow up and I don't doubt it. You like to sit in your room and "write songs" on your keyboard. I often overhear you singing songs you've written or ones you've learned at church or from me. What a gift God gave us in you! You are going to be an amazing man of God one day, but for now, you can just be my sweet boy. I love you, Avery.
Finley . . .
How time has flown! You were the baby and now you're 3 1/2! You are my sweet cuddly, boy. You love to give hugs and be held. You have been cuddly from day one. I love the way your eyes light up when you're excited. You want to do everything Avery does and repeat what he says all the time. You love to look at books and do puzzles. You are easy going and it doesn't take much to please you. You like to color and do crafts. You love fruit and sweets. I like how you say police officer, "seefs occifer." :) You are learning to write your name pretty well now and are learning other letters and sounds as well. You like to sing songs but get embarassed if you discover someone is listening to you. You like to play rough (star wars) with your brother. You like to play basketball and football with daddy. You love having our undivided attention. You love to play dress up. You are adorable and I love you my sweet Finny Fann. :)
Sawyer . . .
You are 2 months old! 9 weeks and a day to be exact. :) You are a precious gift, my Sawyer Daniel. We didn't know if we were going to get you, and I'm so glad we did. You are a big boy! You started out so little and now you're over 12 pounds! I love your double chin and chubby cheeks. I call you "sweet cheeks." You are sleeping well. You just wake up one time in the night to eat and then you go right back to sleep. You love your swing and sleep best when swaddled tight. You smell so good. I am constantly smelling and kissing your head. You are getting more alert every day. You are very smiley and vocal after a feeding. I love hearing you coo. You love the canvas that hangs over your bed. You smile and coo at it every time you're getting changed. You have done that from very early on. You always look for it when I lay you down to get changed. You love to be held and your daddy and I love to hold you. We are so blessed to have you. You are special, little one. I love you. Pin It

What I've Been Doing Lately
Some of you have expressed concern that I may have fallen off the face of the Earth. :) Well, I didn't, I just had a baby...our third, by the way. :)
So this is what I have been doing in my month long absence from blogging:
LAUNDRY. LAUNDRY. LAUNDRY.
How one tiny baby adds so much laundry is beyond me. It could be the fact that he spits after, between, and before every feeding, leaving me with an entire load of burp cloths to wash.
Homeschooling.
You may remember that Avery goes to Providence Academy two days a week and I home school him the other 3 days. This is what our table looks like on those mornings. Notice my cup of coffee...it is essential. He does great and really enjoys it. It has taken some juggling now that we have our Sawyer here, but still works out great for us. We almost always do school in our jammies. :)
Finley doing his "work." :)
Holding my Sawyer.
Notice the laundry piled around me.
This is my favorite thing to do in the evenings. I feel like we are going going going all day long, so I really enjoy just sitting and holding my sleepy boy.
He is already growing and changing so much. I am soaking up each moment with him. He is PRECIOUS.
