Easter 2008

We've had a great Easter today.  It started with the traditional Easter baskets for the boys.  I love finding fun things to surprise them with.  This year obviously had a spiderman theme. :)  They were so excited when they saw their baskets.  Then we had cinnamon rolls for breakfast and AJ read the Easter story from the Bible.  It is really neat to see how much more Avery is understanding of Christ and His resurrection.   The boys got to play with their new treats while we got ready for church.  Finley had all the candy eaten in about 5 minutes.
We had a wonderful service at church.  It was so refreshing and so focused on God's love for His creation.  Good stuff.  Afterwards we went to my parents for Easter lunch and egg hunting for the kids.  The boys had a ball with their cousins, Sam & Mary and Aunt Hannah.   They absolutely adore them.  It was a good, full day.

How sweet are these brothers??!

Oh, how I wish I had a picture of that Sequined Dress

This week is Spring Break for our area.  All of our normal activities are canceled.  My friend Ashley let me know about some fun activities going on at the Jones Center this week.   We met there yesterday morning and this morning as well.  It was great to get the kids out of the house and enjoy some fun, out of the norm, activities.  Yesterday they had a magic show.  It was pretty entertaining.  It was an older gentleman and I'm guessing his wife as his assistant.  Some of my favorite parts were the fact that they had Cher's "Do you believe in Life after Love" song playing really loudly for the first few acts.  Why?  Also, the woman-assistant was wearing a full-length, sequined gown.  Seriously reminded Ashley and I of some prom dresses when we were in high school.  :)  She also had on white pumps, if you're interested.  Titus and Avery really loved it.  They talked about it a lot afterwards.
Today they had a kids concert.  It was really fun and in
teractive.  They got to get up and dance and walk around the room like airplanes.
Here are some pictures from our fun morning!

Finley, Audra, Titus, Avery, & Justus enjoying the beautiful Spring weather!

A little heavier than usual

So I needed to hear from God.  I have felt so distant from Him lately.  I know that He is not distant at all.  I know that it is just a feeling.  But it is such a yucky feeling.  Feeling like my prayers are hitting the ceiling.  I've kept saying, "Where are you, Father?, I need a word, I need to feel your presence, I need to hear your voice."    Last night I spent most of the night awake.  I just could not sleep & was tossing and turning for hours.  I finally decided this was an opportunity to pray.  Uninterrupted time to talk with my Lord.  So I did, I prayed and prayed for everything I could think of.  I was still wide awake at 3:30 so I decided to go and read a blog I had bookmarked but not gotten around to reading.  The blog is http://cold-water-news.blogspot.com

It was so good to read.  If you have some reading time, I highly recommend it.  It was definitely what I needed to read this morning.  It is written my a man close to my age, who is a teacher-preacher/missionary.  He just lost his wife in January and has two small children.

I have been struggling with God's sovereignty lately.  God spoke to me of His love through this man's words.  I am reminded once again, that God always comes through for us.  He always does.

BOYS

So I wanted to post a little video of what my boys do for 85% of their day.  They pretend to be Power Rangers ALL THE TIME.  Finley has no idea really...he's just copying whatever his big brother is doing.
Before you judge, please know that they have never actually seen a Power Rangers show.   But, I let Avery play some computer games on Disney.com and they have little promos for Power Rangers and games.  That's all he needed to be obsessed.  2 years ago he was into Super Man....again had never seen the show, but all the advertisements in stores got him hooked.  Then he went through a Spiderman stage and now it's Power Rangers.   He wants to be the hero....and isn't that what God created him to be?  I truly believe that it is built in boys' nature to protect and fight a fight worth fighting.  I always ask him what Power Rangers do and he says, "they save people." I like that.

We pray over our boys at night.  We pray that they will be  mighty warriors in God's Kingdom.  I want them to see when a fight is worth fighting, and fight it in Jesus' Name!

**side note---this was taken with my regular camera... hence it's fuzziness.

This is going to be so cool . . .

You should be able to click on the picture to see it larger.  If you have trouble reading it, it's going to be held at the Church at Arkansas, 1906 E. Mission Blvd (behind Eureka Pizza in East Fayetteville).  I think we may even be having live music and I know they'll have food for sale.

I'm Alive.

Just wanted to check in and say "sorry" for being a bad blogger lately.  I'll try to get with it very soon!  I have been busy with taxes (yuck), etsy shop, 2 boys, and preparing for a boutique show at the end of March.  I will give details about that boutique show soon for those of you who are local.  It's going to be really cool, like a craft fair, but only really great, trendy items for sale.  No broomstick baby dolls or anything like that.

I'll try to post some pictures of my adorable children very soon. :)
